

He was speaking at the 45th anniversary celebrations of the Art of Living Foundation and the 70th birth anniversary celebrations of Pujya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar held in Bengaluru, in the august presence of Hon'ble Vice President of India Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan.
The Governor said that Pujya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a global humanitarian, spiritual leader and peace ambassador, and the founder of the Art of Living Foundation and the International Association for Human Values. Under his guidance, these organizations have spread the message of inner peace and the art of living to millions of people across 182 countries.
He noted that Karnataka takes pride in being the birthplace of this global movement. The Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru has become a source of inspiration for millions around the world in the fields of peace, meditation and positive living, he added.
"For the past four decades, the organization has been working to promote peace and well-being at the individual, community and global levels through various initiatives. Gurudev's teachings present ancient wisdom in a simple and practical manner, enabling people to experience inner peace in their daily lives," the Governor said.
Highlighting the organization's humanitarian and environmental contributions, he said that the Art of Living Foundation has played an important role in promoting sustainable development through renewable energy projects, waste recycling innovations and rural electrification initiatives.
The Governor observed that Gurudev's message has become even more relevant in today's world, which faces challenges such as tension, violence, intolerance and mental unrest. "He has taught humanity that the true essence of religion is not division, but unity and compassion," he said.
He further stated that ethics, sensitivity and spiritual awareness are essential for realizing the vision of a "Developed India." In this direction, the Art of Living Foundation is playing a significant role in spreading positive energy and moral values in society, he added.
Extending his heartfelt greetings to Pujya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on his 70th birth anniversary, the Governor wished him good health, long life and continued service to humanity.
