eVidyaloka, a Bangalore based not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming rural education through digital classrooms today announced the launch of its 100th village center at Government Higher Primary School, Karthalu, KR Nagar, Karnataka.
The Digital Classroom that has been set up within the school premises enables volunteers to connect to the students through remote access from any part of the world via online & interactive Skype classes. It aims to provide standardized lesson plans and teaching aids for a consistent learning experience for the children in villages.
The Karthalu center was inaugurated by Mr. Kamal Shah, Head CIO, LTI Mumbai. LTI is one of the distinguished corporate donors that has generously supported eVidyaloka in starting operations in Karnataka in 2015-16, and now enabled the eVidyaloka model to be implemented in 35 schools in rural Karnataka itself.
eVidyaloka also announced the launch of Jupiter, a comprehensive technological platform of eVidyaloka. Jupiter will empower volunteers, partner NGOs and the Operations team to successfully imbibe the model in the remote eVidyaloka centers across India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkat Sriraman, Founder, eVidyaloka said, “I am very excited that we have achieved this milestone. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and encourage more number of volunteers to enroll and help in imparting education to rural students through our digital classrooms.”
