Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron ore Karnataka was awarded the “National Award for Excellence in CSR & Sustainability” in the category of ‘Best Community Development Award’ recently in Bangalore. National CSR Leadership Congress & Awards presented the award to the Vedanta Iron Ore Karnataka Team.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Meghna Ghosh, Head Corporate Affairs, Karnataka, said, “It is a proud moment for Vedanta and we wish to continue our efforts to be the Best Community Development in the state of Karnataka. Vedanta has always taken great initiatives to develop and grow with the community around the mines. We at Vedanta Sesa Goa are committed towards giving 75 % of its wealth to social good.”
The award recognizes Vedanta’s sustainable and equitable efforts in transforming the local stakeholders and society at large. The award is a testimony to the initiatives taken by Vedanta Iron Ore Karnataka on socioeconomic and environmental fronts.
