He was speaking while presiding over the 14th Convocation of Rani Channamma University, where he highlighted India's growing influence across multiple domains including scientific research, technology and digital transformation.

The Governor emphasized that the mere accumulation of information is not sufficient for true development. "What we need is intelligence, human sensitivity, problem-solving ability and an innovative mindset. India's ancient knowledge traditions also reflect this belief. The purpose of knowledge is to develop a perspective that guides individuals, society and humanity towards progress," he said.

He noted that India is scaling new heights in science, technology, agriculture, health and entrepreneurship, with Karnataka playing a leading role. "From Bengaluru to Belagavi, a wave of innovation, energy and knowledge is flowing. Our universities and students are central to this transformation," he added.

Congratulating the graduating students, the Governor said, "Whatever path you choose, your actions will contribute to India's progress. Strive for excellence in your conduct and leadership. Be grateful to your parents and teachers who form the foundation of your success."

Calling the youth India's greatest strength, he said, "India has the world's largest youth population, and this energy is driving nation building. Whether it is Startup India, Digital India, Make in India, Green Energy Mission or advancements in space technology—youth are at the forefront. Do not limit yourselves to seeking jobs; move towards creating jobs. Become innovators who can convert challenges into opportunities, and uphold transparency, integrity and patriotism."

Drawing inspiration from the valor of Rani Chennamma of Kittur, the Governor said her courage continues to guide future generations. "Her life symbolizes determination even in adversity. With her inspiration, walk the path of courage, wisdom and service."

Praising the university, he said, "Rani Channamma University is doing commendable work in knowledge, research and social responsibility. Rani Chennamma's legacy reminds us that the true purpose of education is to uphold truth, courage and service."

During the convocation, Shri Shivaji Kaganikar, Shri Vinod Dodannanavar and Shri Basavaraja Yaligar were conferred honorary degrees. The Governor congratulated them and wished them continued success in serving society.

Padma Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Vice Chancellor Prof. C.M. Thyagaraja and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
