Bengalore,
India - Subhash Projects & Marketing Limited, one of India's
largest infrastructure companies, is creating awareness on
the rising environmental concerns in Bengaluru as a part of
its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive for the year
2008. SPML has involved over 2000 auto rickshaws in a unique
visibility drive to create public awareness for the creation
of a cleaner, safer and healthier Bengaluru. The messages
in Kannada and English revolve around simple practices which
contribute to conserving resources and reducing pollution.
Further,
SPML has championed a number of healthcare initiatives and
free medical camps in areas such as Kanakagiri, Shravanabelgola
in Karnataka, Pondicherry and few districts of North India.
These include association with ayurvedic hospitals, Mobile
healthcare - providing door-to-door treatment, childrens
hospitals, eye hospitals, clinical laboratories, dental clinics,
x-ray centers mobile eye clinics and even artificial limb
camps.
Elaborating
on the initiative, Mr. Anil Sethi, Chairman, SPML, says, As
a socially conscious corporate citizen it is our responsibility
to be sensitive towards our environment. Wastage and misuse
of water, increased pollution in the air and high usage of
plastic have posed grave threats to our natural surroundings
today. The situation can only be improved with day-to-day
conscious efforts of citizens and this is what our initiatives
are aimed at generating awareness among the citizens.
