Bengaluru, once called the "City of Lakes" is rapidly losing its water bodies due to rapid concretization and pollution.

“As a responsible healthcare institution, this initiative is a part of our constant effort to create awareness among the public about the conservation of lakes. We at Columbia Asia Hospital - Whitefield are glad to be part of ‘Pedal for Lakes’ organized by Force GW. Approxiamately 350- 400 people were a part of of it and was indeed a very grave situation, where we all should come together to save the environment which is directly affecting our health and our chance at a certain future with the water level going down, the toxic air that we are breathing, the air and noise pollution from vehicles”, said Mr. Pratyush Srivastava, General Manager,Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield.

In recent years, Bangalore lakes are overlooked resulting into heavy pollution. This has threatened the very existence of the ecosystems. In order to stop the surge of destruction, Cyclothon to save the lakes is a noble initiative and the least one can do to save the environment.
