Nikit Reddy enters semifinals

The results (quarter-finals): Men’s singles :  Nikit Reddy bt G. Siddharth 6-4, 4-1 ( retd),   Megh Patel bt M. Kavin  7-6 ( 4 ), 6-3;  Bharath Nishok Kumar bt  Lohit B. 6-2, 6-3 ;  Dakshineshwar Suresh bt  B.R. Nikshep 6-0, 6-2. Doubles: Sashank A. Narde / Deepak bt Amogha Shivaram/ Sunil Harry 6-4, 7-6 (5). Women’s singles :  Artati M. bt S.B.Apoorva  0-6, 6-4, 6-1 ;  Avantika Sai bt Tejasvi Kate  4-6, 6-3, 6-4 ;  Vanshita Pathania bt Nidhi C.  6-4, 1-6, 6-3 ; Prathibha Prasad bt  Angela Raman  3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The top seed Nikit Reddy  of Andhra Pradesh entered the men’s singles semi-final at the ANT-AITA Rs.One Lakh prize money tennis tournament  at the ANT Tennis Complex here on Wednesday . Nikit Reddy prevailed over G.Siddharth 6-4, 4-1 and Siddharth retired after developing a cramp.  The third seed Bharath Nishok Kumar of Tamil Nadu also advanced to the semi-final beating Lohit B. 6-2, 6-3 . Karnataka’s B.R. Nikshep, however, failed to make the last four cut as he lost to Dakshneshwar Suresh 0-6, 2-6.


In the women’s singles,, the top seed Prathibha Prasad of Karnataka  defeated Angela Raman 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 and reached the semi-finals / Her Karnataka team-mate S.B.Apoorva went down to Arati M. 6-0, 4-6, 4-6. The second seed Vanshita Pathania, however, made it to the last four stage beating  Nidhi C.  6-4, 1-6, 6-3.


 In the men’s doubles, the young pair of Sashank A. Narde and Deepak beat the seasoned  Amogha Shivaram and Sunil Harry 6-4,7-6 (5 ) and reached the semi-finals.
