Army Boys School, Bengaluru emerge as the champions of the Bangalore leg of the adidas &FC Bayern Youth Cup

The 6th edition of FC Bayern Youth Cup - a joint initiative by adidas and FC Bayern, kicked off at the Play Arena, Sarjapur, Bangalore on November 27th, 2018. Spanning across 3 days, the event witnessed the participation of over 60 schools from across the city. Out of the bunch of highly talented schools, During the finale which concluded on 29th November, it was Army Boys School which emerged victorious  whereas  Delhi Public School Bangalore East were announced as the runners up.

The tournament will now head towards its city legs in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Srinagar, spanning over a period of 14 weeks and will conclude with the finals in February, 2019 at adidas The Base in New Delhi.

FC Bayern Youth Cup India 2018-19, an under-16, seven-a-side, inter-school football tournament is a dream for any young footballer as it opens a window to experience a professional footballer’s life. The winning team will represent ‘Team India’ in the FC Bayern Youth Cup World Finals and get to train under the professionals, in Munich in May 2019. The selected players also get a chance to watch the season’s last Bundesliga match at the iconic Allianz Arena.

The FC Bayern Youth Cup is one of the key initiatives that reaffirms adidas’ constant efforts to promote and nurture grassroots football in India and give the young creators a platform to showcase their skills in an international environment. The coming weeks promise to unfold numerous talents from India and will hopefully help us establish this tournament to be an ideal platform giving the young footballers a chance to make their dreams come true.”

The tournament is also being supported by Qatar Airways, the official carrier of FC Bayern Munich, who is an exclusive travel partner of the FC Bayern Youth Cup India. The winning team will be flown to Munich by Qatar Airways.
