L&T Technology Services Triangular Blind Cricket Series takes off at Bengaluru!

India is hosting for the first time ever the Triangular Cricket Series for the Blind in Bengaluru, organized by Samarthanam and Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and majorly supported by L&T Technology Services. The tournament is scheduled for 5th and 6th October 2018 in Bengaluru at Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio, Thanisandra Main Road, followed by matches at Goa Cricket Association Alto Porvorim, Penha de Franca, Goa between 8th to 13th Oct 2018.


A grand Inauguration was organized at Fortune Park JP Celestial, Bengaluru on 4th October 2018 and the ceremony was graced by Shri Mahantesh GK, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust, President of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and World Blind Cricket Ltd; Mr. Paneesh Rao, Chief Human Resources Officer, L&T Technology Services Limited; Smt. Gangambike Mallikarjun, Worshipful Mayor of Bengaluru, Shri Ramalinga Reddy, MLA, BTM Layout, and Shri Mallikarjun B Congress Leader & Social Worker, Jayanagar, Bengaluru. 


Hon member of legislative assembly and former minister Shri Ramalinga Reddy announced and promised that he would help Samarthanam to acquire land required (25-30 acres) near Bengaluru city to build state of the art international standard cricket stadium and with other sports facilities, he promised that he will discuss with concerned govt authorities and help Samarthanam get a land not only that he also promised he will talk with his friends and supporters who would help build this international facility.


While commending the efforts of Samarthanam and CABI, worshipful Mayor Smt. Gangambika Mallikarjun said she would do everything possible to support the disability movement especially for the visually impaired.


Shri Ramalinga Reddy also commended the efforts by Indian blind team which has won several championships in the past.


Blind Cricket tournaments serve as a platform for the young, aspiring visually challenged talented cricketers to showcase their ability and the L&T Technology Services Triangular Cricket Series for the Blind has created an apt stage to establish the same. Samarthanam and CABI profusely thanked L&T Technology Services for the immense support which was largely pivotal in implementing the tournament. We also greatly thank the guests for their continuous support and motivation. 


Mahantesh GK, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam, President of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and World Blind Cricket expressed gratitude to L&T Technology Services, partners and guests who have extended complete support for implementing the blind cricket series. He also added, “I am extremely glad that Triangular Series has created opportunity for many new players and similar events need to be organized globally for the blind cricket players to receive international recognition.
