Sri Suttur Mutt a Centre of Piety and Positive Energy : Governor
"Sri Suttur Mutt is a renowned centre of piety and positive energy and one of the most eminent spiritual institutions in the country" said Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka. With a history spanning over a thousand years, the Mutt has played a pivotal role in the social and religious advancement of society, he noted

The Governor was addressing the 1066th birth anniversary celebrations of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathriswara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji, held in the august presence of the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu.

"Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathriswara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji was a luminous pillar of India's saintly tradition. His life was devoted to austerity, sacrifice, compassion and public welfare. The essence of his spiritual pursuit was to awaken humanity within human beings," the Governor said.

Highlighting the relevance of Shivayoga, he stated that through this sacred tradition, the Mahaswamiji integrated self-realization, discipline and service into everyday social life. His philosophy and spiritual practices were guided by a broad vision of social harmony and universal human welfare. He propagated unity, equality and harmony, rising above divisions of caste, class and creed. In contemporary times, his teachings remind society that material progress is meaningful only when guided by inner purity, restraint and compassion.

The Governor lauded the contributions of the 24th Jagadguru of the Mutt, Param Pujya Shri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, stating that under his visionary leadership, the rich legacy of Sri Suttur Mutt is being carried forward to global dimensions. "From disseminating the profound wisdom of ancient scriptures to providing modern, technology-driven education, the Mutt is rendering exemplary service through more than 350 educational and service institutions in India and abroad," he said.

Emphasizing the timeless nature of Indian culture, Shri Gehlot observed that it has been preserved and nurtured by saints and sages since time immemorial. "Our culture has always stood for universal brotherhood, peace, equality and harmony. Today, many nations look towards India for spiritual and mental well-being," he said, paying rich tributes to Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathriswara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji and concluding with the benediction, "May all the world be happy; may all beings be at peace."

The programme was attended by Param Pujya Jagadguru Shri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Union Minister Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, and several other distinguished dignitaries.
